History of the PioneersHarry Glenwood McCully was born in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania on July 1,1855.  He entered the telephone business in Philadelphia in 1880.  A few years later he was called to New York and assigned to work in New Jersey with the title of Assistant Superintendent, and later as Superintendent.  He spent the next 25 years in building the telephone industry in northern and central New Jersey and Staten Island. Mr. McCully died in 1917.

On July 1, 1971, The H.G. McCully Downstate Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America was Chartered.
